David Bailey

Founding Partner

David Bailey is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with a strong technical foundation in information theory and machine learning. His practice is deeply rooted in the intersection of advanced technologies and strategic patent and technology licensing, with a proven track record of helping clients convert innovation into substantial business value. In both 2025 and 2026, David was recognized by IAM Strategy 300—the global ranking of the world’s top IP strategists—for his distinguished contributions in aligning IP portfolios with commercial imperatives.

David has played a central role in the creation and execution of technology licensing and certification programs for consumer electronics, enabling the widespread adoption of cutting-edge image and video processing technologies. These programs have driven the integration of novel innovations into billions of devices worldwide.

In the realm of patent licensing, David has successfully built and managed programs that have yielded millions of dollars in revenue for his clients. Among his most notable achievements is an ongoing, high-revenue licensing initiative for a major research university in the field of machine vision, which has empowered the institution to reinvest significantly in future R&D.

David’s expertise also includes high-level litigation support, particularly in the development of evidence-of-use (EOU) materials for licensing and enforcement campaigns. His strategic patent prosecution services are informed by decades of experience drafting patents on the technological frontier—many of which have been challenged through inter partes review (IPR) and have withstood scrutiny while becoming pivotal assets in global licensing and litigation across jurisdictions including Brazil, China, Germany, the UPC/EPO, and the United States.

David Bailey is recognized not only for his legal acumen but also for his ability to translate complex technical concepts into enforceable, monetizable intellectual property, making him a trusted advisor to leading innovators around the world.
